Day Meeting Programs for 2008
April 4, 2008 -- Quilt Block Settings
Joyce Laking will be showing us different block settings. Joyce is also the owner of the Country Corner Quilt Shop and will be bringing items to vend.
May 9, 2008 -- Stars Galore
Vicki Kauth and Sue Rogers will present a program on the different categories of star blocks. Members will be given a quiz when signing in for this meeting. The quiz will consist of several different star blocks and members will be asked to name the blocks. The winner will be awarded with a quilt book featuring 12 different star blocks.

Design Inspiration from Everyday Life
Jan Krentz will help us to view our worked with an artist’s
eye, and learn practical tips for color, fabric selection and design. She will
share design inspiration images from ordinary sources and quilts resulting from
the inspiration.
July 11th -The Value of Value
Color value is very important in quilting. Establishing color value for a project is not always easy. Judy Spahn will be presenting this program for the guild.
August 1st -- Its Time to Quilt
Several guild members will be sharing their ideas about quilting and letting us know some of their secrets for determining an appropriate design that will enhance the pieced top.
Oct. 3rd -- Feed Sack Quilts
Have you ever found an “old rag” or piece of cloth, didn’t know what it was or where it came from then let your husband have it for a grease rag only to find out it was an old feed sack? Gail House, Judy Jensen and Liz House will fill us in feed sacks and feed sack quilting.
Nov. 14th -- Embellishments
Don’t you just love the embellishments on the art quilts? You would like to try adding some to one of your own quilts but don’t know how? Barb Carlson and Jan Hickman will show us different types of embellishments, show us how some of these are applied and how to take care of the quilts once completed.
Dec. 5th -- Tea Time
There will be a lot of different activities going on including the presentation of officers. There will be a “Tea Party” and “Cookie Exchange”. “Cookies” will be ˝ yd. cuts of quality quilt shop fabric. Members who wish to participate will be asked to bring no more than 3 “cookies”. For each “cookie” that a person brings in, they will be able to choose that many from the entire collection. Other activities will also be added to this meeting.
